We thought that a mid March wedding at Eagles’s Eye, Kicking Horse Resort, would be like a beautiful, snowy, winter wonderland….well, we got the snowy part right… About a 1/2 hr before the ceremony, and heading up the gondola, a sudden change of venue was put into play due to gale force snowy winds! There was absolutely no way the ceremony could be held outside! I pretty much could not see my hand 2 feet in front of my face! Skiers & Snowboarders dining at the Eagles Eye Restaurant at the top of Kicking Horse Resort, we crammed into one half of the restaurant, while the other half got a quick makeover for the ceremony. I remember the bride, Brittany, laughing & saying to me moments before she walked down the aisle “the only thing I didn’t want at my wedding was strangers”. Needless to say, thats exactly what she got.. The ceremony turned out so beautiful, and instead of taking photos up top on the mountain, we took them to the gondola base, where a torrential downpour was happening!
Its a darn good thing that they had a gorgeous house rented at the base of the mountain to do nearly all the photos in :) Thank you Brittany & Jared for being so darn awesome & positive on a day that some would have been upset over! You guys are totally awesome.
